CHRIS ORDIWAY
Owner / Lead Audio Engineer
Chris started his audio career in Milwaukee as production manager for Showtime Entertainment in the early 90’s, running karaoke and maintaining all of the karaoke and DJ equipment. Graduating from karaoke ‘mixers’ (he uses that term lightly) he started learning true sound-design, beginning on a Mackie VLZ in church. After being tasked as a fill-in at a regional theatre, he moved back to Michigan and started Russell-Ashmun, LLC with just one local client, operating their gear. Twelve years, two PA systems and three consoles later, not only running a successful company, but Chris is also a member of IATSE local 274 which includes support at Wharton Center (on-call) and audio mixing support at the Breslin Student Events Center (on-call).
MATT LANDFAIR
Production Manager / Engineer
Matt (Thing-2) started learning audio at the young age of 12 with school productions. As a fellow musician (bass) he has a unique perspective on audio design. Matt is a member of IATSE local 274 and he joined Russell-Ashmun three years ago and hasn't looked back!
MATT SMITH
Audio Engineer
Matt (otherwise known as Thing-1 here at RA) has worked in live sound since 2002. He got his start at a local church stepping in when the former sound engineer/operator had to step out for a while. During this time Matt built his skill set and was able to improve the sound at that church and go on to a couple other churches to do the same.
TROY BOYD
Audio Engineer
Troy holds a B.A. in Audio Arts & Acoustics from Columbia College Chicago. Majoring in Live and Installed Audio, with a concentration in Live Sound Reinforcement. He is currently the Head Audio Engineer at Michigan State University’s Wharton Center for the Performing Arts.
